Recently reinstalled XP Pro Media Center, and my audio quit working. I have a Audigy 2zs. After installing drivers, the windows logon sound will start, then quit playing halfway through. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, both the original and the newest available, and the same thing happens with both. It's not showing any errors or conflicts, any ideas?

If you have onboard sound, disable it in the BIOS first.

You try reseating the card or trying another slot?

No, and the reason being that it worked perfectly before I reinstalled my os, and for a short time after. It seems as though something is disabling my driver, but I can't figure out what.

Try uninstalling the card, rebooting, uninstalling the software, rebooting again, and then following the instructions for installing the card into an existing machine -- which is exactly the setup you will have, once you've cleared everything out.

As I went to uninstall, I checked the sb control center and it somehow it auto changed my speaker settings to 7.1. I switched that and it fixed it. Thanks for the help anyway. :o
