hi guys, was wondering if you could help me with a problem.

i've recently been having some problems with my computer, for some reason the sound devices are playing up.

when i have things like winamp or ventrilo running the sounds starts to slow down massively and start fragmenting when i use another program, ie, firefox, or counter strike. and sometimes just starts doing it even when nothing else is running.

i've reinstalled drivers for the sound card, and removed and reinstalled winamp, i've tried de-fragmenting all my drives, checked for viruses but to no avail.

just wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to what it could be.

    some info-
athlon 1.8, via chip motherboard W/ onboard sound card, 512 ram.

uninstall/reinstall all the motherboard drivers. make sure you download the latest ones.
