OK, here is a Little problem that one of my friends had......

He ran a full system restore on his system, after the restore he could not play any Music Files this includes MP3's, AVI, Even Music CD's, he can hear the Windows Sounds though.

What do you guys is the problem here? Remeber he just ran a restore.

    Thanks

    tried installing winamp?

if it looks like it's playing, and no sound is coming, go to the volume control in the Control Panel and make sure that none of the individual threads are muted.

Does he have a sound card? Does he have integrated sound? You need to find these things and post.

He might have soundmax integrated sound and after a system restore soundmax drivers needs to be reinstalled. Download them from the internet. If he has a sound card, download the drivers for that.

    Problem is fixed,

Went into safe mode, Cleared Startup Items, Removed Windows Media player, reinstalled Media Player...
