Sound in Java

    I'm a fledgling Java user and was wondering how Java handles sound. Does it use sound files like wav's, create it's own, or whatever. Thanks :hs:

    When I wrote an app which played sounds, I used wav files.

    I think you want to look at JMF (Java Media Framework) If you were really ambitious, you could do MP3's, but I would not try that to start, maybe after a few years of working with it.
