I just got a home theater in a box and want to run my computer through it. The only inputs available are RCA (left and right) or optical. My current sound card (old) only has front and rear.

I want to utilize 5.1 so I'm thinking optical is my best option. Would this sound card work?

For 5.1 through the optical connection, I'm assuming that would probably work pretty well. To be honest, I'm pulling that assumption out of my ass. But hell, for $24, you're still getting a fairly decent sound card, you know it has 5.1 capabilities, so what the hell?
