I've been feverishly searching for some of the new stuff offa Merck records and some lesser known chiptune stuff via soulseek and bittorrents, but am turning up empty handed.

Where has the file sharing herd migrated to?

And why all these invite only places?

Seriously, if someone knows of a good place to find obscure electronica, (and if it's an invite only thing, has a spare invite,) I'd be forever indebted.

Searching Oink for Merck Records I found Deru; nothing for Chiptune though. Got any individual artists that you're looking for?

Also, ever been banned from OiNK before? And if no, got an email address? I have some (9) invites just collecting dust..

Post that in Off-Topic and they will all be gone within a matter of seconds...

I buy my textbooks from amazon.
I also sell my textbooks on amazon.

That's pretty much all I will ever use amazon for. If I like an album enough to purchase it I tend to do so through my local record store or via the artist's website.

Limewire is awful. You rarely ever find a full album in one place, which is extremely innefficient.

OK, so, back to the topic.

Any other suggestions? I'm definitely looking into oink...

Thats the problem. Having invited a number of ungrateful douchebags from the main forum, only one of them has managed to maintain a decent ratio.

Soulseek doesn't have the obscure material I tend to look for.

fiveohnoes, I've spent most of the evening in OiNK, and my god man....that place is amazing!

I found practically everything I'd spent the last month hunting for in 10 minutes.

Thanks again dude, you won't regret it. =)

I'd probably use Oink if I new how to use torrents :wtc:
I could probably teach myself...I have just never bothered to read anything about it.
