Unlike richk, I don't have the luxury of a "tac closet," but I did have some shelves in one corner going mostly unused, and I felt that my preparedness for zombies was a bit lacking with the previous technique of stacking guns and ammo "wherever." Top shelf is cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous stuff. The old-school metal Band-Aids box actually contains .177 BBs. Second shelf is my Ruger GP100 w/4 speedloaders AND Glock 17 w/5 extra magazines. Third shelf has pistol ammunition: 9mm 115gr FMJ (550), 9mm 115gr JHP (200), several flavors of 9mm 147gr JHP (~150), 9mm 147 JHP +P (100), .357 158gr FMJ (100), .357 125gr SJHP (50), .357 125gr JHP (100), and about half a box of .38 special 158gr FMJ. Forth shelf is AK-related. I have 60 rounds of Remington FMJ, 240 rounds of Wolf FMJ, and 880 rounds of Wolf JHP. 4 magazines are loaded with the JHP - one of which is in the AK to the right (note the Crossman Pumpmaster airgun directly behind the AK). Fifth shelf has empty Wolf boxes. Floor below fifth shelf ... it's the bathroom closet anyway, so in addition to the pistol cases I have some toiletries. I expect this arrangement to be temporary. I plan on building an armored "tac cabinet" one of these days so I can lock all this stuff down while I'm away.
