Unlike richk, I don't have the luxury of a "tac closet," but I did have some shelves in one corner going mostly unused, and I felt that my preparedness for zombies was a bit lacking with the previous technique of stacking guns and ammo "wherever."

Top shelf is cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous stuff. The old-school metal Band-Aids box actually contains .177 BBs.

Second shelf is my Ruger GP100 w/4 speedloaders AND Glock 17 w/5 extra magazines.

    Third shelf has pistol ammunition: 9mm 115gr FMJ (550), 9mm 115gr JHP (200), several flavors of 9mm 147gr JHP (~150), 9mm 147 JHP +P (100), .357 158gr FMJ (100), .357 125gr SJHP (50), .357 125gr JHP (100), and about half a box of .38 special 158gr FMJ.

Forth shelf is AK-related. I have 60 rounds of Remington FMJ, 240 rounds of Wolf FMJ, and 880 rounds of Wolf JHP. 4 magazines are loaded with the JHP - one of which is in the AK to the right (note the Crossman Pumpmaster airgun directly behind the AK).

Fifth shelf has empty Wolf boxes.

Floor below fifth shelf ... it's the bathroom closet anyway, so in addition to the pistol cases I have some toiletries.

I expect this arrangement to be temporary. I plan on building an armored "tac cabinet" one of these days so I can lock all this stuff down while I'm away.

if I can't get them with 64rds of 9mm, 90rds of .223, or stab them in the face,
    then they win? :dunno:

Spring failure only happens from unloading or loading a spring. A spring will not fail from staying loaded.

I have a friend that was in the military. They found a crate of 1911's and still loaded magazines from the 20's. He said they shot the majority of them, and used the mags loaded with the original ammo, and didn't have a single failure.

actually I swapped some parts in/out of those mags and haven't used them
    since.....I don't know if they'll perform so I don't load them. Once I know
they work, I'll probably go ahead and load those too just to save time when
going to the range (and in case of all out invasion I'll have those handy too).

but 1 mag, which didn't want to feed right at first.....and mag #1 is filled
    with.....

Dude, if I had an AR, I'd totally take you up on this. Sadly, I'm not even started with the process of buying parts to build myself one.

The stacks are .223 Remmy JHP since the local range frowns on FMJ :(

I have 400rds of M193 in the mail (well, they sent 20 already, so 380 coming).

The mags in that pic.....3 Rock River, 3 "Cheaper than Dirt".....have 2 more
30rd Cmags, 1 20rd Cmag not pictured. The rock river mags have Magpul followers
(pulled from the CTD mags) as do the C mags.
