I just figured I don't really need it and I've been unemployed for a while now and thee's still no sign of my industry picking up so whatever job I get in the near term likely won't pay well or I'll have to start at the bottom again.

TIA and sorry if this has been answered but I didn't see it in a search.

Do you still live in Arizona?

If so you can sell it private party to anybody with an Arizona Driver's License.

I guess I'm really just asking where I would sell it - should I go to a gun show? I'd rather not walk around there all day with my gun and ammo and accessories.

Or online somewhere (not sure what headaches are associated with selling a gun) or put it on consignment or what?

    :o

I'm in Nevada now, I think there's pretty much the same gun laws here other than the registration for pistols requirement in Clark County.

You could check the Backpage out for Nevada.

Backpage is very sketchy here in Arizona, but, it's an option.

Guns aren't allowed on craigslist. You could do it on gunbroker, but, you'd have to use a firearms dealer to ship it to the destination which costs money on both ends. Also kind of a hassle.

You can also post it on the national boards and just mention that you prefer a FTF transfer - put a higher price if someone must have it shipped. It's pretty common.

    That's what I'd do.

Key words/phrases would be "FTF preferred", "Will consider shipping at buyers actual cost", etc..

You do not want to be shipping ammo unless someone is paying for it, and even then I'd avoid that. You also should include that you will only ship to FFL's who will accept from a private individual. Then you can just box up the rifle, and send it from your local UPS distribution center like you would any other parcel (albeit, with insurance and sign-on-delivery).

Sadly your best bet (not knowing any of the local nevada boards/forums) ar15.com is probably your best bet to get most eyes on it. Go to your local hometown forum and ask there.

Packaging an AR for shipment is pretty easy.

Just post an ad on Arf or M4C and mention that buyer pays shipping unless you do a FtF transfer. Use a USPS map box for the upper, a standard flat rate priority box for the lower.

Ammo shipping will require you go to a UPS hub, and get a ORM-D sticker. Not that big of a deal.

Both rifles and ammo are in demand, so it's a seller's market. Unfortunately, the buying craze has slowed down some.

Give me the specs on your AR and I may pick it up. I sold mine last year when I wasn't working and I regret it still. I need an AR!

Put it up on a local forum. I sold my AK last week and I got like ~10 PMs in 24 hours, got what I wanted for it and the whole process was pretty painless.

    :dunno:

Not sure yet, I wanted to ask about that too but I forgot . . .

I guess looking through gunbroker would be a good place to see going rates? Or is there a better way to do it?

Well I'd love to post a price and have it sell immediately but I suck at selling shit so I'd like to actually take some time and figure out what a good price is - I don't want to rip anyone off but I also don't want to get ripped off myself :o

I reckon you'd easily get 1200 for all that shit

Take how much you bought it for, account for the number of rounds you put through it and subtract, take the add-ons and add a little more.

    Then accept OBO.

    :o

Well it's never been fired, I bought it, work got busy and I never went shooting, then I got laid off and haven't been shooting since.

I think I got it for $1,300 + change so would $1,400 be a good price? I also have 500 rounds of .223 (some surplus, unmarked shit).

PS. I PROBABLY won't sell it on OT since I hate dealing with shipping and that shit and I've been screwed by Paypal, etc.
