I have used both - as my German friends have ordered US models and had them taken back to Germany...They don't hold a candle to the D300, but they are nice compact cameras. I don't like that the fact the will only take AF-S and AF-I lenses. The D60 has only 3 focal points, but has Active D Lighting and noise reduction. Thee are a few more features that are nice, for a hobbyist . I guess its a good starting point in the world of DSLRs. I think the D70s and the D50 are better cameras, and the D80 seems like a nice jump in features/quality. However, I think Canon has a more "advanced" camera for the price, with the Xsi. The new 18-55 VR is miles better than the first generation of this lens, that I bought with my D50 almost 3 years ago. I'll post pictures here in a few minutes. IBNikonHate.
