canon sd750. you get a bigger and better tilt aware ( ) screen and don't have to put up with crappy and overpriced memory sticks.

I second the SD750. Or spend a little more and get a SD850IS (or any Canon IS SD series)

I own an W5 and have used several Sony W series cameras and I really do not like the image quality and the expensive Memory Stick.

W series are good cameras I'd spring for the SD850IS

I was debating between the 750 and 850IS. Is the IS that much better? I was just looking for a nice point and shoot.

:uh:, this forum is a bunch of Canon sackriders so of course the answers you'll get will be "Canon, Canon, Canon". Shit, if it came down to getting a Canon 0.5mp camera vs. anything else, they'd still say "Canon FTW"

Go test them out yourself. They have both cameras at Best Buy in Mission Valley (I know, I was just there and tested both of them myself). My roommate wants to get the W80 instead of the Canon because it was easier to use. Granted, memory sticks are usually more expensive than SD cards but SD cards are too fragile for my liking. I've had the same 512mb MS Pro for about 5-6 years now. :dunno:

Actually I prefer Nikon and own a D70... And I also own a Sony W1.

I have used a SD700IS and SD850IS several times and they are just the best as what they do for the cost. Check the reviews...

And the idea that the SD is more fragile and the Memory stick is crap...

don't get me wrong, the canon series is very nice and they do take great photos. but in this case, I really have a hard time choosing the Canon over the W80.

the SD being fragile compared to the MS is not crap. i've dealt with over 25 different MS and well over 75 SD cards and the SD's wear much quicker than the MS do. plastic prongs getting bent/snapping off, the lock tab getting snapped off, or the actual case splitting...
