The same thing happened to my cousin when he was in high school, he was in one room of his friends house and his friend was doing something with a 30.06. The gun went off, bullet when through a wall and then through my cousins leg.

Luckily it didn't hit anything major and he was OK sans the fucking hole in his leg.

It amazes me how many of these kinds of stories you hear... It seems like common sense to me to know 100% whether or not a gun is loaded before doing much of anything with it... Maybe I am just more anal about this than most??

I just don't get it. What's the pourpouse of claning a loaded rifle, it's not like it takes that to load and unload a rifle. It is sucha minimal time cost for safety. Ugh, it's things like this that give gun owners a bad name

    always store them loaded
