its a 4th gen 20 gig. yesterday it started making this clicking sound that wasnt the click speaker and it wouldnt play anything. i reset it and it showed the florder with the exclamation point and the url for the ipod support site. so i restored it to its factory settings and now the computer doesnt recognize it. i mean windoes does it makes the noise when it is plugged in but itunes doesnt recognize and either does ipod updater. sometimes when i plug it in a little thing comes up that says autoplay and it looks like it is searching for the autoplay thing. i tried reinstalling itunes and the ipod updater to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.

try the winamp plugin to see if you can get it to work that way. iTunes is pretty bad.

If that doesn't work, it might be time to call in warranty or something.
