you get cheap disks and make them use redundency
EDIT: you have to put them in an array
dam its so clear to me now
seriously though, read this http://mcoecn.org/WhitePapers/RAID-Buyers-Guide.pdf#search="RAID in a nutshell"
im too stupid
take the next step
Someone in their drunken stupor assumed SCSI drives are cheap.
This thread makes me cry.
no baby jesus no care.
Compared to a single drive with 100 platters, ten separately-movable readers, a huge memory cache, and a case the size of a filing cabinet, SCSI drives are affordable. Remember, RAID wasn't invented for normal people to use; it was invented for mainframes and server farms.
Besides... decent SATA RAID is actually a reality these days.
is sata raid the one that is focused to maximize speed ? whats teh bad about doing this ?
i know theres different raids like 1, 0 etc... but i think most of them serve as backups ..
Obviously you didn't bother to read any of the links that have been posted.
because im doing hmwk. and theyre simple answers
