    1. my wife was sleeping at home, i was shopping for shoes.

    2. someone jimmied the lock on my porch and my window and entered the house

    3. must have seen my wife and left the house

    4. nothing noticable was taken

    5. god damn i wish i was home!!!!!!

    6. going over the house and securing the shit out of it, new windows etc.

    7. if i came home there would have been blood

    8. i'm pissed

    9. good thing my guns were hidden well and most locked up

    10. check your house to make sure there are no easy points of entry, once i saw how they got in i realized how easily my old windows can be jimmied open from the outside

get a lock bar for your sliding door. makes it almost impossible to get in unless they break the glass.

Go get some dowel rods, cut them down and drop them in the window tracks. Get a bar for your sliding glass door. Get a dog. Did you get the shoes? Get the wife a gun/more training/and make sure she actually carries it and not just keep it in her purse. Get an alarm system; make sure wife actually sets the alarm properly. What kind of shoes did you get? Plant some prickly/thorny bushes under the windows to discourage them from using that route.

MG wanted to put razor wire outside our bedroom's sliding glass door when we bought the house.

  11. I still do. Unfortunately the only stuff I was able to find came in something like 1000' spools.

pretty sure that they saw my wife and left, her car was in the shop so they probably figured no one was home and thank god they were just there to steal so they apparently left.

i know they gained entry because the lock on the window is screwed up and the wood around it is gouged from them working at it and my porch and window were unlocked (window open about an inch)

they were about 5 feet from my wife with an open bedroom window!!

i'm super pissed, and they're super lucky i wasn't home cause mister boomstick would have been short a 00 buckshot or 2.

so my wife had an intruder within 5 feet of her as she slept while i was gone.

i must say i feel guilt and anger that i wasn't here and god knows what could have happened if it was a rapper instead of a potential thief.

now i need to replace and secure some points of entry today, i've already purchased some materials and have a contractor coming out to install security windows in a few lower level entry points that are prime break in points.

so i'm diverting some of my gun budget towards home security items to better secure the home.

a member of the wmd crew almost had his wife violated by some fucking dirtbag piece of shit!!

the cops got prints and castings of tool marks etc, we'll see if they can find the ass hole, will update if an arrest is made.

here's the fucking kicker!!! since they didn't take anything or cause harm etc, all they'd be charged with is trespass and criminal property damange, 2 misdemeanors.

the ass hole was 5 feet from my sleeping wife

(they're lucky she didn't wake up cause she has her S&W 642 in her dresser drawer and the chick can shoot :) )

i'm tired, might take a nap, was up with the cops for hours last night and got up early to deal with the dude who was taking more evidence casting the tool marks etc.

pretty pissed off right now bros, but at least my wife and guns are safe :)

oh yeah, and i don't live in the hood, i have a pretty nice house in a good area. fucking dirtbag, it would be worth him breaking in if i could have been here when he did it!!!!

Does that prevent it from being lifted out? Most sliding glass doors are a joke. If someone wants in all they have to do is lift it off the track.

Living in a nicer neighborhood doesn't make your house safer or less of a target. It only makes people feel that way.

I'm really impressed that they came out and made castings of tool marks - that's some CSI style shit for a simple failed burglary? Do the cops have nothing else to do? Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool that they are doing something.

Brinkmans car got broken into recently, when he called the cops to report it, they bascially just asked him if he needed a police report for insurance, he said no(the damage was less than his deductible) and they basically told him to piss off. I wouldn't have expected them to do anything but write up a report so it would be included in the crime statistics for the area.

depends on the door. I tried it when I installed it, and you'd have to be pretty damn ballsy to try and do that. it isn't the easiest thing in the world to lift out of it's track when the door is closed/locked and you have a bar in place.

the police the other day told me they would have come out and taken prints and all that shit, but like I said in my other thread, I had gone outside and my prints were on it too and figured that it wasn't worth it.
