Went to Formula Japan at Suzuka circuit on saturday. there were a few races that went on, but the main event was today tho. it was my first time doing panning shots and lets say most didnt come out:o but i was expecting that.

I was never able to get a good spot and unforutnately everyon's lines were right at the top and most dense part of the fense were (due to the fence bending to an angle) and i only have the kit lense with me in japan. so no big zoom :wtc: im really wishing i brought that with me more and more (went to a baseball game today and it would have been really nice to have). but such is life. these were the best ones i got. just try to pretend the fence isnt there:o

this one makes it look like hes still lined up at the beginning but everything's blurred. a little trippy (at least to me)

here u can see the cars on the track and the big screen. i just noticed that going through them.

these guys were going at it the whole race. this ones probably my favorite bc one's sharp and the other is blurred

this guy dominated the whole race and ultimately won (although this wasnt the last lap)

only thing ive done to the images is crop and a slight sharpening.

    comments welcome :)

  6. If I went to japan and snapped these pics to preserve my memory of the time I spent in japan first I'd sell my camera and kill myself, then kick myself in the nuts. But then again going to Japan to see a car race is on the top of my list of things that I really really want to do. :hs:

panning is a bitch. and i imagine that those cars are moving at a very high rate of speed.

practice practice practice is pretty much what i can tell you. the first drifting event i shot, i'd be lucky if 1 out of 9 shots came out usable. but by the 2nd day of shooting...i was around 1 for 4 to 5.

  12. That's why it's better to practice before going to the event. One day I was bored and didn't know what to take pics of so I sat by the highway and shot cars as they were passing. Good way to practice panning. :bigthumb:
