just thought I'd share
I don't agree with what he stands for but I like the shots.
I'm about 50/50 with him
I just think it's cool that he's (or someone high up in charge) is allowing everyone this much access and trying to show us that even though he's the president he's still human and does normal things.
everyone here should mark the bigpicture site in their respective rss reader..the site is always full of fantastic shots and gets updated pretty frequently
It's no different than any other president. They've all had official White House Photographers that constantly follow them around. You probably just noticed now because nobody really cared that Dubya was human and did normal things.
i like the note to his kids teacher
That was a note he wrote to a random girl in the crowd at a town hall speech after her dad said she was missing school to come to that day.
he seems like a normal dude in most of these pics....and a a big boss baller in the rest with the shades and sstuff
Yeah they've all had white house photographers but I haven't seen them actually doing anything with those pictures. Did W have a flickr account?
Um, they used to post them weekly to whitehouse.gov. Just because nobody looked or you didn't see them, didn't mean they weren't there. Remember, the Obama team is a million times more into PR, especially internet-related, than Dubya and crew ever cared about being. Hell, Obama IS PR.
celebrity presodent. follow him on twitter
I did not know that...
i was a backer of clinton... mostly because that would have essentially put Slick Willy back in the White House hsugh Obama is a publicity stunt that worked. Had Dubya spent more time on PR, and less time on being a moron (or at least appearing like one), he probably wouldn't have had such dismal approval ratings.
You know, the weird thing is that I didn't really have much of an opinion of Bush, just kind of a "meh, that dumb ass" generic angry dem opinion, and then I saw some photo essay on him. Particulary a picture of him crying--that one picture made me stop and think, kind of realize that yeah, these are important and powerful men, but they're still men. I think that's really helped with my wold view. Whenever I hear of the president doing something stupid it really makes me thinking, "Well shit, I doubt I'd do any better in that situation..."
EDIT: Not trying to get political, just draw a relationship between photographs like that and how they can effect people's opinions.
Had he spent more time on a little PR, would his approval ratings been in the shitter, or at least as far in the shitter as they were?
Does Pete Sousa get any love from the OT crew after 167+ days? I remember the first comments earlier this year and he was mostly regarded as a hack.
dunno... only thread i saw on the matter really didn't say one way or the other...
Some of the compositions are priceless
