so, i just moved a couple weeks ago and this has been my first chance to get my camera out since then. i picked up a new to me car monday night, too. i've always wanted to try automotive photography, so i thought what the hell, i'm home by myself with nothing to do (with 2 kids and a g/f this doesn't happen very often:o ). anyways, here's a few pictures, i'm not sure which framing i like better with a couple of them, and i think i need to pick up another speedlight or two or more...

when i started car shopping this time around, i considered going with a "normal" 4 door sedan, but i just love the room and feeling of driving a suv. :o

i had a 97 a4 before the explorer. i originally sold it because a) the extended warranty i bought ran out and b) i had the chance to buy that explorer from my brother in law for a grand. :o i love audi's, but fuck parts are expensive. i'll never own another one that is out of warranty.

I agree...more lights are needed on the grill and the rear tire. You might be able to bring the shadows up just a bit. I like the crop on #2 better than #1, the parking stop is distracting.
#3 The rear of the jeep should be on the left of the frame imo.

Congrats on the jeep! I miss my YJ. :wtc:

Maybe my crappy monitor at work is too dark, I don't see anyone fishing. Anyway, if that was the case, I would reposition the car so the guys are in front of the jeep. Your eyes will trail from the back of the jeep toward the front to the open water where people are fishing. Keep the same amount of negative space, just make it in the front of the vehicle...make sense?

Edit...I just realized you said trying NOT to get the people fishing.
