I have this old pentium 1 mmx, that was running xp. It was pretty much useless except for downloading. So i thought id spice it up a little bit. So i decided i would oil-cool it and overclock it as much as possible. I have it @ 200 mhz up from 166, would be higher but my bios has no clock mulitplier, nor any way to change the voltage. And the 2 voodoo video cards are @ 109 mhz up from 90. here are a few pics.....

I believe the clock muliplier is locked, is there anyway of getting around this? Or any other way to overclock?

Maybe it's just me... but I don't see anything protecting the hardware from the oil. Wtf?

Shouldnt you be circulating that through something to keep it cool? Otherwise it seems like it'd just insulate it.

i used xp on it for a good 2 years, ran fine, just a little slow.

and i stir it around once every so often, and it is staying decently cool. This is just a temporary thing. I plan on modding an actual case and a little air condition unit to cool.

you should run it through a little heater core with a pump, and make a fan blow air through the core to cool the oil :)

i bought an old fridge today. and we are going to take the cooling unit out of the fridge, and place it in the bottom of the oil. I am also going to get a .5 hp electric water pump, to circulate the oil. I would have the cooling unit installed by now, but i am having one hell of a time getting it out of the fridge (need to cut the damn thing in half).

putting a pc inside of a mini fridge would be pretty cool too.. no pun intended

btw would you keep the fans on this baby or take em off and leave it to the oil?
