Pretty little yellow flower..i had this one printed and framed, it's beautiful.

Sun set outside of my apartment complex, took a lot of photoshop work to get rid of all the powerlines that were criss-crossing the picture.

My University's gym, 4 second exposure. Had this one printed and framed, as well.

Here's a rose that my mom was growing in the backyard..

Not sure what type of flower this is, but I thought it'd make for a great overhead shot.

Went to the dog park, cute little fuckers.

accidentally took this pic, and i was just amazed at the detail of all the leaves.. 1/500 shutter, f2.8 at 8x zoom. handheld.

the stamen of a hibiscus..again, amazing detail..

    That's all for now..comments welcomed. :)

What is the longest exposure you are able to do with your 5700?

    (I'm looking to buy one..)

What's you opinion of the 5700? It looks like a beautiful camera to me, but I like to hear what people actually think of it. (It's so hard on deciding on a camera)

i love it..all the shit about it not being able to focus in low light.. well, it's true..but how often do you need to take pics indoors? if you need to, use a flash..otherwise..i love it..8x zoom is incredible, the macro is fucking awesome..its not too heavy, it feels good in the hands..the user menus are easy..if you wanna know anything else, feel free to ask

Is there the option for manual focus?
Are you able to add different lenses?
Finally, since it came out in 2002, how does it stack up against more current cameras in the same price range?

    Thanks. :)

Yep, you can switch it to completely manual focus, along with other manual settings, such as aperture and shutter speed.

As this isnt an SLR or dSLR, you cant detach the lens it came with, but there are an array of lenses you can add on to it, such as a polarizer, wide angle, telephoto, etc...and they're relatively cheap <$100.

It is 2 years old, but I believe it to still be the top runner in SLR-Like cameras, only given competition by its 2 sister cameras, the 5400 (doesnt have 8x opitcal, but does have a wider field of view, being a 26mm lens as opposed to the 5700's 35mm) and the 8700 which is basically the same camera in an 8mp form.
