Well, I ditched my KAC "reflex" mount for my Aimpoint and got an A.R.M.S. #22M68. I also switched over my A.R.M.S. #40 to my other M4 and replaced it with an A.R.M.S. #38S-EX-MOD.

I know some will ask, so I'll get it out of the way now -- What is the parts list? Well, here ya go:

    Olympic pre-ban lower
    Bushmaster 14.5" pre-ban upper
    Reverse carbine flash suppressor
    Bushmaster 6-pos telestock
    Hogue grip
    A.R.M.S. #38S-EX-MOD
    A.R.M.S. #22M68
    KAC RAS
    KAC side QD sling mount
GG&G QD sling mount on front sight post
GG&G QD sling mount on telestock
    GG&G single point sling mount
    Surefire M900a w/ A.R.M.S. throwlever
    Aimpoint CompM w/ Killflash

    Here's my other toy:

    Cavalry Arms lower
Bushmaster 16" upper w/ Wilson fake FS
    Hogue handall
    KAC RAS
    KAC foregrip
    A.R.M.S. #40 BUIS
    Trijicon Reflex II w/ A.R.M.S. #15 mount
Surefire M962 w/ A.R.M.S. throwlevers, M3 strike bezel, Z48 tailcap is in the mail

Yeah, I know -- "Why the yellow lower?" Well, the lower has sat in the safe for about 2 years now and was intended to be mated w/ a 24" SS fluted bull barrel, but I haven't gotten that upper yet. So...since I came across a different upper, I decided to strap it on for the time being. I look at it this way, at least it is lightweight. I'll be getting a new lower for that upper in the near future, then later I can build my other target upper w/ the haneous yellow lower.

yucky. me no likey SWAN sleeve. and i'm going with la rue on any mounts i get in the future. looks good overall, though. i just don't like rails that raise the height of the rail. the new la rue rail system looks very nice. contiguous free-floated rail that doesn't raise the height, only like 2 ounces heavier than the lightest free-floated rail system on the market, and $50 cheaper than that one.

Well, I got a good deal on the sleeve. Not to mention, I wanted to change it up a bit. Additionally, I hope to get a PVS14 sometime. This way, I can mount everything inline. Yeah, I coulda done it with the cantilever mount, but this way, there is plenty of room up top. It is also nice to have the integrated sight on the rail. IMHO, the A.R.M.S. BUIS is superior to all others.

What's the gray thing coming out of the bottom of the front grip? I know nothing about ARs and their accessories :hs:

That is simply the ON/OFF switch for the light. It enables/disables the momentary pressure switch.

    Thanks for the compliments fellas!

LOL, nah, I'll keep my pre-post-pre-ban or whatever in the hell they'll be termed. Never know what'll be banned next.

I got my aimpoint M2 and larue low mount (for RAS II hump) today :)

mechanical zeroed it so when I look thru the iron sights the dot is right on top of the front sight post.

Gotta get to the range to fine tune it tho :bigthumb:

Nicely done. That is the way it's supposed to be. Both my ARs co-witness perfectly.

Hey, you got a picture of the mount on the hump? I've never seen the LMT mount. Does it look like the KAC "reflex" mount, but just lower? I considered trading my RAS for a RAS II, but at the time, I didn't want to ditch my KAC Aimpoint mount.

Yeah lots of people are saying that.

CT has it's own ban. I've got 2 prebans but 3 postbans. I'd like to un-neuter them.

(One is a Varminter so I guess that one doesn't matter)

not sure what the KAC reflex mount looks like.... Its a LaRue mount, not LMT... LMT doesnt make mounts as far as I know

RASII's main advantage over the RAS is that its free floating, but attaches in pretty much the same way (no gunsmithing). but the hump is specifially for an aimpoint, and gets in the way for anything else.

heres the set up on a pre ban BM lower:

JD, when are you going to catch up with the world and put some decorative lighting on your contraption? your setup is exactly what i'll end up wit, just with my M962SU06, my TD forward grip, and a phantom instead of a vortex.

Okay, yeah, saw the LaRue and just didn't care for it b/c of the brass-like parts that are integrated into it. Also, well, what is the cost? Isn't it about as much as an ARMS?

the LaRue mounts are the ONLY lever mounts that are a 100% zero-retaining mount. the reason for it is that if you look at the bottom, they have two little bars in there that lock into the picatinny slots perfectly, THEN the locking levers lock in there. they're also adjustible, in case you HAVE to put the mounts on an out-of-spec rail. i myself won't do that; i'll send the rail back to the manufacturer and get one that's in spec. but just in case.

Yeah, I like 'em. I've got one for my FAL, too. I'm keepin' my eye out for another though, I've got some .22s that I wanna strap Aimpoints on to.
