    I still need to try a USP.

    Lets see on the 2nd picture for example, I think running your f-stop to a higher number for a greater depth of field would have been nice. It looks like you used the popup flash on all of them and sadly that just won't do. Bounce flash off the ceiling is a good start with a sb-600/sb-800 but a tripod and natural lighting is my favorite. In the 2nd and last pictures for example, they looks a little underexposed to me, you might try center-weighted or spot metering and meter off the frame off the gun so the black is properly exposed. You might also experiment with different backgrounds, maybe a canvas backpack, leather coat, colored shirt, anything really. It looks like you're taking pictures on a scratchy blanket or carpet, something else will be more interesting. Plus you can hide something underneath the material to set the gun across so you don't have to see a magic marker stuck through it. Good work, just thought I'd toss out some ideas for next time!

    haha, even though i didn't understand a word of what you just said, thanks for the advice. my dad's the big photographer, i just took his D70, set it on automatic, focused, and took the pics, haha.
