I go to Gold's Gym and they have some sort of reputation to protect so they try to out-do the local gyms. Well their latest idea is .... hey let's rip up the anti slip mat's and lay down some nice really thin rugs, you know to make the place look a little more up to date. Not thinking anything of it I load up the Smith machine for squats and a few reps deep I feel weird like there was some movement but I didn’t think anything of it. A few reps later the entire Smith machine slides backwards on the slippery thin ass rug, I lose balance and fall to the ground. The weight came down and crushed me onto my own legs and now my right leg is a little sore. It all happened so quickly, the entire Smith just slid backwards and the weight came down on me so quickly, once I started to lose my balance it was already too late. My brother would always think I was a dork when I’d set those safety collars but if it weren’t for them my face would have been between my feet while I was in the squatting stance. It was so aggravating when it happened. I felt like the gym floor was perfectly fine and Golds decides to snaz it up for the people who want a pretty gym without using their common sense (I didn’t use mine either I should of thought about that). The Smith isn’t even bolted into the ground which always creaped me out. The owner wasn’t there but I gotta talk to him about putting down some anti slip crap or at least bolting the Smith into the ground like it should be. Use those anchors people; you never know when you’ll need em.
