the end... i really got to get myself a 70-300 lense. i was using my 18-55 kit lense. really would be nice to have a zoom lense becuase i couldn't get incredibly close to the track.

Also, look at the yellow F355 challange car shot. see the lense dust, i think thats on my mirror. how do you recommend i clean that? thanks...

Put the mirror in "cleaning mode" and use a blower like the 2nd poster recommended. Your manual should say something about where to find cleaning mode.

It says in the my canon manual you arent supposed to touch the sensor with anything just use a air blower :dunno:

I've used that blower on mine and it works just fine. I figure unless the dust is really stuck on there, I have no good reason to touch such a sensitive area. Good shots, btw...very impressive that you got those with a kit lens. The panning ones are great.

It doesn't tell you that the sensor is covered with glass either.

Well thats good to know for future use, I usually clean mine every time I change the lens so I haven't had a reason to use anything more than a blower yet

yeah and its a D40 too which everyone hates for some odd reason. i get good comments all around usually when i post pics and then when i say it was D40 i get :ugh:

I am thinking about getting a D50 or D70 body soon though so i can buy the cheaper zoom lenses. i have to spend almost a 1000 bucks for a proper 70-300 lense because i has to be an AF-S. would be cheaper in the longrun to have the prime in the body.
