I know its not the DVDr's cause i bought a 50 pack and other movies have worked on them. I recently burned 2 different DVD's and for some reason, my standalone DVD player won't play them. Maybe its a region issue. The .vob files on the DVD play fine on my computer. What's going on? Is there a program that tells you the region, and/or other properties (PAL or NTSC) of .vob files?

Unfortunately your DVD player just may not like your DVD-Rs, might want to try a different brand, or even DVD+R and see how that works.

dvd decryptor will tell you what region they are. But I would say that if your dvd plyer doesnt mind some then it is a region issue.

I've had even less luck with DVD-R's. DVD+R's work more often, but still not everytime.

Sounds like media honestly, what brands are you using?

I usually to try using only Verbatims or Taiyo's for DVD's
