Here are Cliffs on what he says. This is a summary of what I got out of it and not the exact quote but fairly close: He (Lt. Col. Ralph Peters) states that PFC Bergdahl could have been captured or could have deserted, but most likely it was desertion. And if that is the case, then Al Qaeda can spare us the trouble by killing him themselves.

He is basically accusing Bergdahl of being disloyal and a deserter before any of the facts are in.

Just watched it...idk, if sources say the soldier walked away from his post alone (which is obviously NOT EVER fucking done overseas) then why wouldn't he be a deserter? Anti-American statements? I can agree with the Lt Colonel on some views...but like he said the facts are not in so speculation is just that.

If he is a deserter than I don't give a fuck what happens to him. Period.

I agree, I'm just saying if he's not actually a deserter than even being thought of one would be pretty rough.

If he didn't desert you can bet that Delta, SEALS and Green Berets are looking the best they can.

I can almost gaurantee besides small source operations that they do anyways for regular intelligence gathering that its business as usual. Haqqani moved him over the border and we raided every Haqqani hideout we knew in the following month after his capture all to no avail. You'd like to think that our high profile Spec-Ops could do something that conventional forces can't but sadly in this 'long war' it's just not the case.

I heard two versions: One version has him walking off his post, and the other version has him getting snatched from his position as last man in a patrol.

what's your guys policy on conduct after capture? I doubt he'll get in trouble if they get him back because it'll be a media circus, and im not passing judgement but a lot of what he's saying is definitely not within the rules

You should make all attempts to not act like he's acting - but it's sure as hell not mandatory (flame suit on) noone expects someone to hold up forever and right now 5 months is a helluva long time.
