boot using installation disk, zero out HD, reinstall OS, sell.

Or if you don't want to get that anal about it, just wipe and install. it's not as secure but not too many people are going to go into the work it takes to read the old contents.

Or you could always buy another HD, put it in and install the OS on it.

Its not much work. There are tons of data recovery tools, and when I lost something it was frightening how much was recovered.

You'll be ok with a zero out, i personally throw a new drive in and use the old one for whatever.

Or, you could load up the current one with porn then wipe and install that way if the person runs recovery stuff they will be in for a pleasant surprise :wiggle:

I know it isn't, but i don't think most people really care all that much either.

    I'll agree with this.

id guess something like 99% of people wouldn't care to try, but I also think that 1% chance isnt worth the time to zero the drive.

Download and use Boot & Nuke, then reinstall OS X.
