now I've got some money and trying to stop myself from buying an 85/1.8 so I can keep saving for the 70-200/2.8 :o

    525. I put a pretty much never used 18-55 kit lens from when I bought my D40, and threw in a couple of memory cards. Was asking 550 on Craigslist and got 525. can't complain about that.
is small...and being married we are using it on a vacation this summer...or at least to pay for part of the vacation to see my dad who'll be back in the country for a couple of weeks. We haven't seen my family in a few years.

but I'm supposed to be getting a bonus this year that will hopefully be about $3,000. In like April I think:x:...if that happens I'll be okay...but they've already pushed it back like 3 times and reduced the percentage twice too:wtc:.

70-200 VR I'd say, just because you'd get more use out of it. The 85 is great, but a little tight on a crop sensor!

I second the 70-200 VR....but if you don't need VR there was an 80-200 AF-D for $725 on TPF.

I know I'm going for the 70-200...it's just an idea of "god I want to buy something":o:rofl:

if you have a need for that lens, get it. if not, get something shorter. main thing is, get the best lens for the area you will be shooting with.

sure the 70-200 or 200-400 are some great chunks of glass. but if you mainly shoot in the 18-70 so at the other F2.8 or better lens for that area.
