Anyone have any shareware or freeware that will convert a Excel Spreadsheet into a SQL database?

    Thanks.

Or you could use a front end like MySQL Front that will import a tab delimited file. You can just save the Excel file in that form.

I believe MySQL has a few import tools you might find handy. The following are some links on a few different ways to go.

    http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/mysql.html

    http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/LOAD_DATA.html

There's a way to load a file directly from SQL. Its something like:

INSERT INTO tablename (column1, column2, etc) SELECT LOAD FROM FILE filename

But I think that might be incorrect and I wasn't able to verify it. I've got code at work which does the above trick and I can verify it on Monday if you want.

The only trick to doing this is the column order is important. I know MySQL loves tab delimited files and I think it should like comma delimited ones as well.
