Sodium sucks!!

    I went to Austin this last weekend. I didn't cheat on my diet at all but I did eat out alot. We ate at Jason's deli, whole foods and places like that. On Friday, I did a bikram yoga class and a crossfit workout. On Saturday, I did a bikram yoga class in Austin and was out walking around all day. On Sunday, I took my friends dog for an hour long walk in the morning. So, I stayed on my diet and I stayed active. Friday morning I weighed 207.5. I was so happy! Monday morning I weighed 223!!!!! Isn't that crazy? I've already dropped 5 pounds of the water and I should be back to normal by Wednesday or Thursday. But, I just think it's nuts that the sodium content in restaurant foods is so high. I was so pleased with myself for eating good the whole weekend only to see a 16 pound gain after 2 days!! :mamoru:

    I was on vacation last week and had a couple double baconators from wendys+ice cream+multiple buffets. went from 192->221 :wtc:

    I don't respond that well to sodium. Will gain a pound if lucky.

    I can easily gain ~15lbs in a week if I want to. Fucking sucks when you're a former fatty.

    I speculate that it has to do with body memory, #of fat cells, and insulin resistance. I think there is something more going on with insulin resistance and sodium than we know.

    more likely it's insulin sensitivity

    evo do you consider yourself to be insulin sensitive? What about Horsedick or BDR? daballer?

    My training partner used to be a serious fatass and if he cheats even slightly he'll gain 20lbs in a day. Pisses him off when I go eat an entire pizza and look leaner. :rofl:

    :rofl: It's the same concept as a BB'er carb loading right before a show to pull the water out of the skin and into the muscles. If I do it more often then once a week I'll start to gain weight.

    I only started to watch how much sodium I took in about a month ago and I was surprised to see how much food has high sodium content. Like one hot pocket was like 1200mg :eek3:. No more dirty food for me

    dude... seriously... you eat cakes and cupcakes and ice cream and get leaner and stronger

    i eat a bowl of rice and gain 5 lbs.

    Assuming your bowl holds 2 cups of medium-grain brown rice.

    That comes out to onry 436 calories (91.6g carbs/9g protein).

    Approximately, a pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories.

    5 pounds would be 17500 calories.

    not everyone's body reacts the same to carbs, broseph... i'm thinking it's mostly water weight, but the fact remains that my body holds a shit-ton more of it after eating carbs than yours does... clearly...

    I bloat up pretty well if I've been low-carb and then bam, get some swedish fish in me and drink water, POOF
