my GF works in LA some weekends, i would just roll up with her wherever anyone was trianbing at, but the lack of open gym does make it a lot trickier.

my gym was cool to train at on sundays.. but they JUST changed the mat, and now are all anal and crap :(

yeah.. its rough, you guys might be able to come during an open mat on fridays, but there would be other people there too..

it would probably be cool i think, as long as theres not like 45 guys from OT

we can roll inside my house. its a total guys pad, carpeted without any girly knickknack shit to get in the way.

and i should be ordering some mats soon. :run:

any idea where youre going to train in the fullerton area? i know that one of the schools, not sure if its the cal state or the jc, but one of the fullerton schools has a bjj club.

    maybe here:

    www.showtimejiujitsu.com

i love javier vazquez's style.. but the schedule seems kinda crappy now :hs: gonna check it out.. or maybe tinguinha, or newbreed bjj.. theres a few choices out there.

uhhhh, i mean i can roll on carpet, but carpet burns really suck.. If i train in a gi i can probably avoid getting them though. a couple puzzle mats would really help.. otherwise like i said, i have an open mat at my school on fridays. you guys would just need to sign a waiver..

i like the idea of rolling/training on any day that an event is on. that way our girls can eat/drink and laugh/ignore us.

    damn he's expensive.
i looked at ting awhile, but also expensive and his training didnt seem all that diverse.
new breed is awesome. i love that place its just too far for me to get too on a regular basis. price if definitely affordable and they have plenty of experienced higher belt ranks to help out. very technical school and excellent teaching, belt progress is slow and they (johnny ramirez & john ouano) really makes their students earn it. :bigthumb:

i also tried out franco de carmoga's(sp?) school on chapman in orange. high priced long committment place. i thought it had too many little kids and it sorta came off as a belt factory where you just accomplish little mini tests and move up.

yeah 150/month is expensive but i might get a good deal cus he's homies with my current instructor.. it will also be about five miles from my house..

i dont really care about diversity so much, i just like to learn jiu jitsu.

newbreed might be a little far to reach in traffic.. i dont really know yet. tinguinha looks awesome too, much more classes than javi, probably around the same price.

my instructor told me i should go with javi, and his game seems to fit my style more than the other guys.

in any case.. do you think you can get some mats?

its no big deal, ive priced it out and it only appears to cost ~$270. at that price it sounds well worth it.

so tell us the secret... you get a discount to train when youre a purple belt dont ya? :hs:
