Kind of sucks that 5,500 of that is based on trading in a gas guzzling gm.

1,000 of that is GM loyalty, the other is the CARS rebate from Obama. If this car averages 5MPG better than what you currently drive, you are good to go.

the dealer here bought most of the gxp's from the other dealerships. They want $4k over msrp. I laughed at the guy when he told me that when I test drove a G8. They didn't want to go much below 1.5k below sticker on a G8 GT.

i doubt you can get $4500 for trading in something that gets less than 18mpg combined for something that gets like 20mpg combined.

Not every car is eligible for the cash for clunkers thing

Trust me, it isn't very hard to get the rebate, and dealers will push it through either way. Just like the home rebates, it is being abused.

Fuckin A those are such nice cars, I don't understand why people are buying TLs when you can have an LS6 for the same price.

You might get something, but not every car is eligible and not every car nets you $4500

my brother tried to do it with his '86 oldsmobile and it wasnt eligible because when it was new it got 19mpg combined :greddy:

It just needs to be 5 MPG better than what you currently drive

    My current

    13/17 = 30 / 2 = 15 avg.

    G8 18/25 = 43 / 2 = 21.5 avg.

    21.5
    -15
    -------
6.5 bam! fingers in that pussy. That is 5MPG > my current car
