Just went to my local wal-mart today and stocked up on some ammo. fuckin 15.77 for a box of 100 shotgun shells field load, federal and 14.88 for a box of 9mm wwb. i checked .40 and .45, 19.88 and 24.98 respectively.

I don't kow if this was mostly due to missouri's recent hike in inflation due to the raise of minimum wage from 5.15 to 6.50/hr but it sucks either way.

not just MO. There isn't a Walmart near me so I had a friend stop in and pick up 400 rds of 9mm, it was 14.88 or so, 15.88? Either way it's gone up $2-3

My friend just bought a 250 round box of UMC ammo (.45) and a 50 round box of Remington (.40) and it came out to be $90.xx at Wal*Mart.

When I bought my gun the store owner said that all ammo was going up 10-15% because of the extra added cost of metal going up...

thats such a fucking bullshit cop out. yeah, so the cost of metal has gone up TODAY, which means that everything already produced and on shelves should go up too. thats a fucking bullshit excuse and they know it.

It's been going up for awhile now and eating into thier margins. You expected them to continue to eat losses on product without raising the price?

Ya, the metal surcharge's have been going thru the roof in the last year. We can't get companies to quote stainless for more than 7 days price validity, usually 2 days.

yeah, i asked the guy behind the counter about it(it's sad he actually knew what i was there for)... and he said that it just went up like last week.

Good to know that it's not just the inflation rippling through MO's economy. sucks that the metal prices are hiking... a reloading setup is looking better and better everyday.

Metal prices have been rising for years thanks to things like China and India's booming economies. I'm really suprised that WWB and what not are just now rising as I've watched alot of reloading components increase for about a year now :hs:

yeah, but what im saying is that walmart doesnt recieve this shit every day... infact, id be willing to bet not too many people know about the ammo they have behind the counter. im just saying, how do they warrant hiking the prices of stock they already have and have paid for at a certain price already. but then again, i could be wrong. im going to hit up walmart tomorrow and hopefully i can find some cheap stuff left :x:

only solution left is to invade china and wipe them out :x:

You don't sell things for what you paid for them, you sell them for what it will cost you to replace them (market value). ex: gasoline sells for what the station will have to pay to have their tanks refilled. When your suppliers raise their prices, yours go up as well.

The money they make from the current ammunition sales is going to be used to buy more. They have to sell it at the price they expect to be able to purchase the new stuff otherwise they won't be able to replenish their stock.

I went to Wal Mart on thursday and WWB 9mm 100rnd was still $12.88, and $15.xx for .40.
Went back on saturday and it was $15.56 for 9mm and $19.98 for .40.
    .45 WWB was almost $26.

Yesterday at Academy for .45ACP roundnose was $15, JHP was $18. Then I drove to Wal-Mizzle and they only had JHPs for $23. So... :dunno:

i now have to buy ammo online. CCI blazer 50 for 5.99. 1000 rounds of 9mm + shipping was actually cheaper than WWB at walmart+tax.
