suck in terms of quality, due to the insanely high demand?
They shouldn't if they have a controlled process.
processes can be tweaked or mix qualities can be ignored when there is such a demand
I highly doubt that Magpul would lower the quality just so they could sell a lot of shitty parts. I have some new PMags made last month. They are perfectly fine.
Magpul doesn't strike me as the type of company that would sacrifice quality for velocity.
I agree and that's why everything is always back ordered
While I don't know, I'm betting they are delaying any new capital since they know this surge in demand is temporary. They know the lean times are coming for guns and aren't going to put a period-heavy cost structure in anticipation of it.
id sell some pmags right now. got 7 in the closet
They're not meeting the demand so I highly doubt the quality of their product has deteriorated.
I would say my more currently made ones are more consistent compared to the older ones.
I just got 8 in today from Brownells, they look fine to me.
What are the advantages of having a PMAG over a regular magazine?
For those environments when your mags will be run over by a truck, put your trust in PMAGs.
Cheaper, particularly once you factor in the costs of a similar style, high-reliability follower to install in a USGI mag.
Less prone to malfunctions due to deformity or denting. The plastic has some elasticity to it, so either an impact is enough to cause catastrophic failure or it's not. Where an aluminum or steel mag might be bent or dented, the plastic mag will often flex and rebound.
Reliability meeting or exceeding the benchmark USGI magazine.
i have a couple of the newer ones,nd they run fine.
now if i could find some of the ones from `07
Only reason i would get a pmag is for their window in the mag and anti-tilt followers, both of which are features that can be found on other magazines. The most damage and wear my magazines get are the occasional fall from 3 feet if i drop them on accident. Pmags look sexy and give you +10 tactical points though.
and they come in tacti-cool colors
I use mags just as much as you do, for training and practicing, and all of my USGI mags are beat to fucking shit. same price, im buying pmags
What are you going to do 10 years from now when 30rd mags are banned. Then your pmags spring goes bad and you can open it to replace it.
Wat? You can replace the mag springs in the Pmag.
So in 10 years is USGI for 20 the same as PMAG for 30? Or should it be PMAG for 20 and USGI at 10?
...I would open it and replace it?
