For general use? Thing is bright as fuck, 75 lumens and has a life time warranty on the LED. Runs on 3 AAA's.

  2. How long does it run at that brightness? Honestly, for general usage or leaving in a glovebox or whatever there's really no reason to buy something expensive. I have a TK10 that I keep in the console in my Jeep.

its not even worth arguing to you why one would buy an "expensive" light instead of that.

Same reason why people use safety glasses when shooting.

Be prepared for things that can happen, even if they don't.

    Stress test.

Turn it on, throw it 20 feet in the air.

When it hits the ground, will it still work?

I've dropped, kicked, tossed buried, submerged in sandy seawater, even blew up my Surefire 6P with M80s.

Not once did it even flicker during any of those.

    :werd:

However, in regards to why someone would buy an expensive light... it's not to throw in a glove box.

I should keep my baby light in my glove box.

I have a surefire... it's years old though. Was like $65 or so and it's nowhere near as bright as this not to mention how much replacement batteries are for it.
