Who has downloaded the Safari 3 beta? thoughts?
im updating to 10.4.9 then im gonna give it a shot, ill post back in a few minutes
lol i dont really notice any differences
reply thing is still fucked up, here coems my sig
yeah I'm playing around with it now...the coolest feature is the ability to drag a tab to the desktop so that it forms it's own window.
It also asked me if I wanted to create a bookmark when I went to add a new bookmark to the bar and I was like what is this?? Windows? It better not keep doing that.
Edit: Thankfully it only prompts you the first time about the bookmark.
Also, with Apple + F you can now do an Inline Find (it works similar to how Cached versions of Google searches work)
my safari has been crashing all the time for a few days so I'll give this one a try
Making Text boxes bigger is pretty cool too. Helps with some things.
It's pretty cool. The only neato things i've played with are resizing the text box (which i only just used on this), and the drag & drop of tabs, which i've wanted for months. I'm missing my Firefox gestures and Saft/Pith support from 2.0, but it seems nice enough.
so far I'm liking it
it's nice but was making msn messenger crash all the time because it was making some lib something.
back with previous safari and going well now.
So I guess no safari 3.0 for me yet
i using it as we speak.. don't really see much of a dif
its hard for me to leave firefox because of google browser sync
no fucking shit, its annoying as hell!
not really noticing too much. im glad they integrated a spell check though
so far i'm liking it. i could switch to it from firefox methinks
Things it's missing:
-"/" searching ala FireFox/Opera (it might have this but I haven't found it)
-Save my tabs when I close the program
-Keyboard browsing ala Opera
-Speed Dial (or something equally innovative)
-Dual Monitor support in Windows (LOL - I have a Windows box at home and it get totally fuX0red when you move it to the secondary screen and try to maximize)
-Support for Microsoft authenticated webpages (intranet .NET pages at work) -- if you figure out how to authenticate to Active Directory with it, let me know
I like it. seems pretty fast too.
inline find is very very sexy
its for windows too
Back button usage on the mouse is done via the mouses software in system prefs.
I'm using a shitty Micrsoft intellipoint mouse and the back and forward side buttons do back and forward.
firefox > camino > safari
i guess i lub teh fatties
i just wish some of these browsers would have some simple add-ons like ad blocking, java control, more dynamic integrated search, etc
the find feature is now 100x better.
I'm going to wait until 3.0 is supported by Pithhelmet, Inquisitor, Unifier and saft
So far I like it. It's a lot snappier and I like the inline "find" feature like FireFox has.
The only feature I still miss from FF is the active bookmark menu. I want the bookmarks on the left and browsing on the right at the same time. I hate having to make a new tab for a site I want to load from within a bookmark folder in Safari. I use my scroll-click to open links in a new tab and it's much faster.
