hows itunes going to react? will it find it automatically or will it completely screw up my itunes (tag info and all since i've changed it in itunes)

id3 tags are part of the mp3 file so you shouldnt lose any of the info.
but yes, moving them from hd to ex-hd will cause it to lose track of all songs. the best way i can think of would probably be to just delete all the songs from the itunes library on itunes then transfer the songs to your ex-hd then drag the entire folder back to itunes. could take a little while but that will ensure that all the songs are correct.

anyone else know of a more efficient way?

that worked like a charm. it didnt miss a beat or anything. moved everything to the hd, deleted the stuff off my powerbook, opened itunes and it plays fine
