generally i'm the type of person who will pick up a new title because the cover art looked good or hell even once in a while because the fonts were neat looking. that's how i stumbled upon ashley wood and jamie mckelvie. both of their styles seemed so drastically different from the DC and marvel world that it completely rekindled my interest in comics (wood actually, mckelvie kept me interested after a couple years of being back in it). so i'm wondering...

what artwork really keeps you coming back to the comic book world?

edit for realizing this thread is far better with something to look at...

examples of wood's work and prints i fucking want so bad

I've been really into Skottie Young's cover art lately, especially the recent Amazing Spider-Man issue with Deadpool. I'd love to see him do an entire comic outside of Oz (like X-Men, etc if that hasn't happened already)

    I liked James Jean's style

I've always been a fan of Jim Lee because I grew up with his X-Men stuff.

UDON's work on Deadpool and Agent X was delightful, especially the redesign/reworking of Taskmaster's costume.

I like Alex Ross' stuff for Astro City.

    I like Quietly's style.

    Nicola Scott.

    Whoever does Iron Fist's stuff.

Fine fine, I'll provide good pencils.

Mix of brushwork and pencils by Dustin Nguyen.

i love the art work, but it was never a make or break thing for a book. i was always in it for the story moreso than anything else. of course, terrible art will completely kill it for me (the new sword book with horse face beast and the design changing every 2 panels is absolute dog shit, for example)

I stopped reading X-Factor for awhile when the art got REALLY shitty.

It also sucks, because Marvel likes to pair awesome artists with............. Jeph Loeb. I fucking hate that. And they know that people will give it a little break because the art is good but the writing is horrible.
