Anybody think there is a chance of him fighting in NJ in November? I'm planning on going to the event now that I live in NJ again.

He was suspended for a nose fracture for 180 days. :(

ouch. that sucks, especially cause he isnt making much money.

I would like to see him fight florian. Even though he has already beaten better talent i think it would be a good way to expose florian for being a chump and a good spring board for him after the Griffin fight to legitimize him infront of a lot of TUF fans.

also Huerta would be a good choice, but i dont think the UFC wants Huerta to fight anyone good.

he still did terrible against sherk. he has not beaten everyone else he's faced (unless you are only refering to LW), he hasnt faced anyone really good. I honestly believe Edgar would beat him decisively.

Edgar Fisher is a good call. Fisher has come to far to get denied contention and it would make for an intense fight. Also after that fight either one would deserve a title shot.

sherk getting cut isn't indicative of how much damage or how well florian did

i think florian did better than expected, seeing how sherk was expected to steamroll through him

however, i was just pointing out that cutting your opponent is not indicative of how well he did

which is overpower someone, take them to the ground and flop around not making much of an attempt to actually do anything.

:werd: It was incredible how easily and quickly he shifted out of half guard, instantly jumped to one side, then mounted. His transitions were flawless.

not putting down what he accomplished... but I've just never really liked sherk as a fighter.... I feel like he's one of those fighters who would rather ride out a safe decision than end a fight. Lets look at his UFC record...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Win Hermes Franca Decision (Unanimous) UFC 73 - Stacked 7/7/2007 5 5:00

    Win Kenny Florian Decision (Unanimous) UFC 64 - Unstoppable 10/14/2006 5 5:00

Win Nick Diaz Decision (Unaminous) UFC 59 - Reality Check 4/15/2006 3 5:00

Loss Georges St. Pierre TKO (Strikes) UFC 56 - Full Force 11/19/2005 2 2:53

Loss Matt Hughes Decision (Unanimous) UFC 42 - Sudden Impact 4/25/2003 5 5:00

Win Benji Radach TKO (Cut) UFC 39 - The Warriors Return 9/27/2002 1 4:16

Win Jutaro Nakao Decision (Unanimous) UFC 36 - Worlds Collide 3/22/2002 3 5:00
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
His only non decision win was due to a cut....

Hermes and Nick Diaz are nearly impossible to finish

i never saw sherk as taking a "safe" win. wrestlers don't have the highest finishing rate

i interpreted "playing it safe" as doing just enough to win/not lose
