I noticed that a lot of people here have injuries. Why don't you list them here, and how you got them? I'm curious. I'd like to keep this topic based around injuries sustained by weight lifting, but if you have any others you'd like to put down go ahead.

I've pulled a few muscles lifting weights, but nothing worse than that. I fractured my arm in 4 places and dislocated my wrist around 6 years ago in a go-kart accident.

rotators---ten years of competitive swimming will do it to you...i just stay away from barbell bench and i seem to be doing ok
knees---running for swimming and crew with flat feet has torn them up but glucosamine and some very specific quad workouts have helped quite a bit (plus i bike instead of run these days)

quirky rotator cuff on my right arm. I think I hurt it doing behind the neck wide-grip pullups.

a couple Halloweens ago me and some buddies were chasing some kids with a chainsaw through the neighborhood and I tripped in the grass and managed to stumble into the street where I landed right on my shoulder. fucked up the tendons and stuff that conected to the end of my collar bone. I couldn't do any upper body for 5 months. It has healed surprisingly well, no more pain, just a little tightness when doing things like dips. and the end of my collar bone sticks up a little.

I will not go through all of my injuries for it will take up a full page atleast...

but at the moment I am:

a)recovering from a dislocated shoulder/broken collar bone from football

b)recovering from a broken foot in bball

c)2 jammed fingers and 1 broken(not major...pinky) from same accident as above

    d)tendonitis in elbow/arthiritis in shoulder(the dislocated one)

    I guess I'm disfunctional a wee bit

Currently have rehab twice a week for 2 torn completely rotator cuffs.

Was doing military press with 110lbs dumbells and the left side just snapped. Then the right side couldnt cope so it dropped the weight and it snapped too.. Carried out on an ambulance...

i don't have an acl tear, my injury is basically caused by not walking right due to flat feet (knees bend inward) so i specifically work the inside quad muscle by doing the last 30 degrees on leg extensions...you have to use a lot more weight and keep it slow and controlled but my father and i both agree that it helps (he has the same problem...much worse now and has had two operations due to the knee cap basically falling off his knee) i dont know what to do for the acl but ask your doctor or therapist because thats how we learned this exercise
