Besides Akira and Dragonball Z?
Akira and Dragonball Z are being turn int Live Action movie?????
I know they were talking about doing Initial D in HK.
Oh boy, "The Fast and Driftiness".
with enough money put into it, I don't see how they could be bad. Ok, DB probably will be bad. You can never turn the hair style in DB into real life
wtf they are doing db in real life...? not good
How the fuck are they gonna do Akira in live action...especially w/o gaying it up, but too bad gaying up is a given
anyone ever catch the live action DB movie from the late 80's (i think its from around then) i never saw it myself but it just goes to show how bad things can be when anime turns into live action
They done really great job on Lord of the Ring and Harry Potter. If they really want to they can make it great.
Re: Re: So what animes are being turned into live action movies right now?
that must have hurt. o.o;
LOTR and HP are both awesome movies. Thumbs up. I only know of Guyver and Giant Robo as Live Action movies. Hm..
If only California could have the big one and Hollywood could fall into the sea, that would be great
WELL IT WOULD BE
Anime typically doesn't translate well to live action.
I wouldn't raise my hopes too high for DBZ an Akira, they are going to be crap made strictly for mass North American consumption.
I'd like to see them make a live action version of an anime like Ranma
This isn't recent, but the Great Teacher Onizuka series by Fujisawa Tooru was turned into a 12 episode TV drama.
I'm not a huge fan of the GTO anime, but the TV drama r0x0rs.
The actor portraying Eikichi Onizuka is Takashi Sorimachi, a famous Japanese actor/singer. THe love of his life is Azusa Fuyutsuki, played very well by Nanako Matshushima. What's funny is those two actors are really married in real life.
After the 12 episodes, there was a movie based on the TV series and then there was the GTO: Motion Picture which takes place after the series.
Really good if you are into those quirky Japanese dramas.
Guyver was an anime? No wonder that movie had flashes of coolness..
DBZ will not look right....
Akira on the other hand can be done.
i rub gto <3<3<3
those are novels, not manga, nor anime...
they will do a horrible job with akira, i couldn't give two shits about dbz. so fuck it up all you want america!
I think Akira will rock. I hear theyre pouring cash into it since akira is known so well. I'm expecting a spiderman/x-men sort of quality. I would love for them to do a faithful initial D movie. And maybe a live action/CGI gundam, please? Akira would kick if it were done by ILM. I think once they do one or two anime movies it will catch on and this could be the next big thing with movie companies scrambling for liscenses. Of course I'm insanely optimistic about this whole thing.
what the fuck are you raving about madman?
Like I said, insanely optimistic. It all hinges on live action akira hitting the mainstream
