..the only apps I can install are the ones on Apple's site? Seems like all the apps I'm finding are for unlocked phones. :ugh:

Errr no. You are confusing unlocked with jailbroken.

I'm jailbroken on 1.1.3 and have over 70 apps on my ATT phone. Your carrier has nothing to do with it. If you are on 1.1.1 software you can go straight to jailbreakme.com and jailbreak. If you are on higher firmware you'll have to downgrade and come back up to whatever firmware your phone has from the factory using a very certain method. If you wanna go higher or lower you'll have to change the bootloader and baseband or things like your phone function will not work.

If you take the quick way out and use the one click 1.1.3 jailbreak method you'll have to use several patches to make everything work correctly. There is only one proper way to do it and it takes about an hour + doing it the right way which involves downgrading to 1.1.1, jailbreaking and installing SSH and BSD subsystem, upgrading (not restoring) to 1.1.2 and following a procedure and a very certain dev program install, then to 1.1.3, etc........

Is it easy go back to unjailbreak?

I'm tempted but I don't want to possibly brick the phone. I don't even have my PowerBook right now-- using my girlfriends computer to sync. So I guess I have time to decide.

Links to the best Jailbreak info?

I'm at 1.1.3, so I don't think it would be that easy.

Is it as easy as restoring in iTunes to go back? I think I'll just wait for the SDK and save myself some time.

Cause once the SDK is out Jailbreaking won't be necessary?

Wow, ZiPhone makes it look really easy. Only think I'm leary about is the downgrading the bootloader part since mine came with 1.1.2 installed. ZiPhone gives a warning that it could be bricked. :noes:

I think I'll wait to see what the SDK brings us. Should be here by March?

Installer.app does it all. Just add sources that you want and you're set.

ziphone will work. i have done it with my iphone and my friends. all the jailbreaking software/ guides say that it could brick your phone. but its very slim imo.

I don't think Jailbreaking will brick it, it's installing a different bootloader that will.
