After 5k + rounds (probably more like 8-10k) my XD40 Tactical broke.

Of course it's the trigger problem I've heard about a few times, so I can't even take it apart. We'll see if Springfield wants to fix it.

But I'll never be able to fully trust it again. :wtc:

I'd give Scott Springer from Springer Performance a call. He's a very good XD gunsmith with very fast turn around times. I've shot with him at the IDPA championships this year and his XD is unbelieveably accurate w/ a 2# trigger job. Many folks that have gone through him consider him first rate.

What sort of failure? got pics?

word, take the whole gun apart with a rusty nail and fix any of internals for a couple of bucks. Glocks are the AK's of the handgun world.

My Kimber is what I show my friends, my glock is what I show my compeitors in matches.

XDs never break, obviously your trigger finger has fallen off and that's the problem. :run:

How long have those been out? I've never even seen a reliability test on those much less the ones that Glock has passed with flying colors. I guess if someone goes down and buys one, shoots 200 rounds out of it they think it's the greatest thing since the AK.

If ANYONE buys ANY gun, goes down to the local range and tosses a measley 200 rnds through it and then declares it reliable... they're a fucking moron and shouldn't be allowed to own a gun.

That's just not enough rnds to declare anything really. 1k minumum, 3k-5k preferable.

really are you lurking under my bed and raiding my safe ? :noes:

and if you haven't seen the tests on them than you're blind they're in several mags and on many sites as well. I've never had a problem with mine and neither has any of my friends that have one with exception of some small ammo problems (was fault of the round not the gun) :fawk:

    Yes and yes.
I've read them all, and no I haven't had any problems either.
I'm just saying that 200 rnds just isn't enough to make a solid decision either way. That is all.
I do enjoy reading most of your posts on the mp forum though. Mostly informative. Sometimes funny. ;)

When did I ever say 200 rounds is what a judgment should be made on?? you shouldn't even carry a self defense weapon let alone any IMO unless it's worked fine for at least 500-1000 rounds.

When I said that it was never intended to be aimed at you. It was just a generalization.
Somewhere, somehow I got mixed up as attacking you. Wasn't my intention.

every gun can and will eventually break. i own a xd45 and love it. haven't had any problems yet, but its still new. compared to the m&p, i'd rather have the xd. the m&p doesnt feel right to me. (MY OPINION!!!) and i dont know if i could trust their triggers.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with the trigger. Find something else to worry about.
