Chronic Right-Shoulder Tendinitis... Only 10% rating, which is $117/mo.
It's not much, but it pays for something. :dunno:

Is this shit for life? If so..

Don't know the answer to your question, but can I ask how you got injured?

I got injured during PT (physical training).. back in Feb 07. Had really bad pain on my shoulder after that. Physical Therapy didn't do a damn thing, would flare it up actually.. and then they gave me a shot (mixture of shit), which actually reduced the pain.. but never got rid of it completely. Had documentation of the pain continuing the entire year. Once I did my final medical evaluation, they sent me to an outside physician who works for the VA and he submitted my shit to them.. So here I am, getting 10% today.

My advice to everyone here who's had some medical issue.. Get that shit documented and don't try to suck it up too much. In the end, it's your body and your pain you're gonna have to deal with. Unless you're trying to go for the 20-year retirement paycheck :mamoru: I decided to gtfo after 4 years. I wanted to do something else.

Depends.. if you're still fucked after the surgeries, then perhaps. If not, then they repaired you free of charge :dunno:

Both of my wrists are messed up from being in contact with Tricresyl Phosphate (F.R.H.) and they have started to try to find out if it is a form of OPIDN, but i still got denied by the VA....

yeah, when you sometimes lost full use of your hands and/or feet, i guess they don't think it is a big enough deal to waste their time with....:gotme:

even though i am in for 20+ years, i would still like some compensation for those days/weeks when i can't work....

and for those that care: here is the chemical information :)

Shoulder surgery FTW! :h5: I still have to schedule mine. Severe bursitis and a torn rotator! And the doc at my last base said my shoulder popping out of socket was normal. tsk tsk military doctor! Civilian says otherwise.

And even if the surgery "fixes" your problem, you will still get some form of disability. Surgery never completely makes you 100%, and the VA knows that.

Between my shoulder, back, both knees, hearing loss (30% so far), and asthma, I should be damn near 100% disability when I retire!

I have 10% for hearing loss. It was my "bar money" for while I was in school. I would constantly tell my friend I was getting drunk on his tax dollars. Now its going directly into a savings account.

My friend would get so pissed. He'd call me and ask what I was up to for the evening. I'd tell him I am "rocking on your dime tonight".

I was only getting $104 at the time (2003). I was at the bar 3 nights a week with money left over. Happy hour FTW!

Is there a page with all the percentages? So I'm assuming at 10% you too get $117 for 2008? Or does it go based on other things?

Damn.. It's only gone up $13 in 5 years? :hs:

Edit: Oh shit, does that mean I'm a disabled vet?

I should be getting the same thing when I get out. When I was in Korea I had to see an ear specialist. They asked me why I thought my hearing went so bad because I wear PPE at work. I told them, where my dorms are, I can throw a rock to the flightline and hit the F-16 that is doing his combat takeoff.

    Wait wait wait....

    wait..

I dislocated my shoulder in basic back in '04

I had bankart lasion surgery in July because for the 3 years, it would dislocate all the time..I got out of physical therapy last month. I can't move my shoulder up all the way, nor to the side, and I doubt I ever will. I also get sharp pains once in a while when I run in that shoulder.

I could get money for this?

I don't know if its even documented though :wtc:

Hell yeah. That sounds like more than 10% too. According to the documentation the VA sent me, I only got 10% because I was able to extend and rotate my arm under the normal guidelines. Otherwise, they may have given me more.
