So I took her shooting a few weeks ago and made a thread about it. Anyway. She's really looking to get a handgun. I showed her just about all the brands i would think of purchasing, HK, SIG, Glock, XD, Kel-Tec, NAA, Kahr, Beretta, and a few others. She picked out a Sig before i had even told her which i thought was the best (way to go GF:bowdown:).

I showed her a P232, but she didn't like it, so I showed her a 239, which she really liked. I plan on getting a 229 when i get the money, and have showed her before. So now that she knows what she wants and i know what i want, she took it on her behalf to make a little wallpaper of sorts:

I took my own free will and made some improvements:

So. I think she's going to be getting a Sig 239 in 9mm, and i'll prolly pick up a Sig 229 police trade in, in .40. His and her Sigs... like the theme? And what do you all think of the 239 in 9mm being a girl's first handgun?

I think it's a great first gun. :bigthumb:

P.S. Did you show her the 2-tone and the Equinox?

yeah, i showed her all of them, and she liked the flat black the best... the prices for new guns are kinda out of our price ranges, as we're both college students. We're prolly going to get used guns if we can find them. I know cdnn has the black 229 in .40 for pretty cheap, and i like black the best myself. The debate now, is should she get the 239 in .40 and just get the conversion barrels for it... it's prolly what i'll end up doing for mine.

I'll deal with ya on the Two Tone if she would be interested. 200 rounds through it, 500 shipped firm.

The 239 is low enough capacity being single stack, I'd personally prefer it in 9mm....

no... jeez guys, they were made in power point, can't you tell with the amazing quality:ughd:...

really i don't care too much about the quality. and no I have no idea who frued was. I think he was a philosopher/pychologist mabye? I don't really care, and i was just having fun/stalling from studying for finals.

lost... is your two tone in 9mm? and what state are you in?
edit: n/m lost, i read the other thread. I don't think she'll like the .40. But i'll ask her.

so i went to the gun store, and they have a 228 (my dream pistol, i was only settling on the 229 because the 228 is so hard to find), for 540 used, with some holster wear, but it doesn't appear to have been fired too many times, and they had a 239 for 475 but it's in .357 sig, which may be a little much for her... Still thinking about the converstion barrel... how good of deals are these?

edit: the P228 comes with 2 10rnders and a black box for 540 firm. I'm wondering if i should get it... it's a big financial leap for me right now.

Unless it's one of those beat on Israeli trade ins, I'd jump on a P228 for $540.

I'd even take one of the beaters for $300. :o
