    Because ARFCOM says it is.

What are you going to be using the rifle for. Some people prefer 1/7 for stabilizing heavier loads but 1/9 is fine. Stag makes good stuff and they have good prices. I don't think anyone will argue :dunno:

I'm not competing/matches, just punching paper. I've kinda decided to start collecting firearms. I've got mostly Commie shit now so I need to add an AR to the mix.

If you're just plinking around, I don't think anything. If you need a more reliable rifle I believe that their testing of components is pretty rigorous, equaled only by colt.

details? the only problem I've heard with LMTs is timing issues with their SBRs which is easliy fixed with a heavier buffer.

I've posted it a couple of times now, but here it goes again.

I had a complete LMT upper, with LMT BCG. The one with the Nickel/chrome plated bolt or whatever finish it is.

Anyways, that upper was a POS. Failure to eject. Failure to load. Failure to lock back bolt on last round. Double feeds. Also, sometimes I load a new mag in, with the bolt locked back. Then slap the bolt to go forward. It would hang up. At this time, it was on a brand new MEGA lower that I built. So I thought maybe something was fucked up with it. So I put the LMT upper on my proven 100% BM lower. Same problems. It's not the magazines. They all work 100% on my BM rifle. I even put the BM upper on the MEGA lower and was GTG.I got a lot of practice with clearing with that upper. I'm talking about multiples with 1 30rd magazines.

So I called up LMT and ask them if they can figure out what's wrong. I sent my complete MEGA/LMT combo, with 1 of my magazine, and several boxes of my own Q3131A ammo to them. They get it, did some "testing". Tells me, well, my bolt catch appears to be "sloppy". Their exact words. So they swapped it out with one of their bolt catch. But they tell me that only reduced the malfunctions. Roughly 10% according to them. And that's appears as good as it would get. :jerkit: And shipped it back to me. :ugh:

So I get it back, take it to the range. Less than 10rds later, their fuckin bolt catch snapped in half.

I parted the upper and sold that shit to some LMT sackriders.

PS, I bought a custom upper later on down the road and put it on my MEGA lower with same magazines. Zero problems.

I've never had a problem with my 10.5" LMT. I've ran both buffers types in mine.

A few having rifles having staked keys != all of them. The chart isnt just sampling one rifle.

Its an interesting chart that I've seen a lot, but wonder how up to date it really is.

Considering I have an RRA that has a 1:7 twist barrel, thats chrome lined and has M4 feedramps and well staked gas keys, four things that chart says are not included on RRA rifles, I wonder its validity on other things.

I will say the feedramps are not cut quite as deep as some I've seen and the staking is not as impressive as some, but both are there and both should hold up just fine for 99.9% of what anyone would ever do.

If you have to have a "mil-spec" rifle, go for LMT or Colt. If you're ok with a rifle that will do the exact same things as a "mil-spec" rifle for less money, there are other fine examples to consider including CMMG, RRA, Stag, Armalite and Bushmaster.

I'm not hating on LMT uppers, I'm buying a 10.5 as soon as my F1 gets back :o What do you mean both types though? There's a few differnt kinds. CAR, H, H2, H3 and 9mm. I have an H buffer, which is fine for normal use, but I know most people run heavier buffers with a supressor.

Don't waste your money on a LMT unless you are a paying ARFCOM member who's only goal in life is to take supermegapixel pictures of your LMT rifle in provocative positions, then post about how many cocks you sucked on the playground today at the daycare center. LMT is for faggots.
