So SG-1 really is a good show.

I started watching this recently, and I really like it. The characters are great, and it's a great storyline. They reuse/revisit some episode ideas from Farscape and Star Trek, but it's almost impossible not to. :o

So far I won't say it rivals B5, Farscape, or DS9, but it's up there.

wait til ben browder and claudia black show up in the later seasons. and no, you're right, it's not as good as BSG, DS9, B5, or farscape, but it's usually a quality show.

Ben and Claudia were my main motivation in wanting to see this. Now I like it even without them. :)

General Hammond is a really cool character. I like that they made him a real person, and not just a "orders is orders" comic book military character.

I like it better then any of the other shows you mentioned, could never get into any of those. I think it was the best early on, not sure how I feel about it now with the Ori have to wait and see how this coming season is. Overall pretty good storyline, accurate firearms handling.

    yeah, then kept going.

my main problem with it is carter. by the later seasons, she can pretty much do anything with anything. she can destroy an entire sun with a bottle cap. she can crush armies with rubber bands. she can use a t shirt to depose gods. honestly, even for a sci fi show, it gets just a little ridiculous.

essentially, she's mcgyver (how fitting) on a cosmic scale. the other characters dont even need to be there anymore.

So I have a question. If the Goa'uld all share the same genetic memory, does that mean they're psychically linked? Or does each one only share the memory of its parent? Like if A has offspring B and C, B has offspring D and E, and C has offspring F and G, does that mean G and D have the same memory? Or does the memory branch off and they only share the common memory of their direct ancestors?

Yeah, she gets a little full of herself. It went from being a somewhat plausible story to 'lets see what shit Sam can come up with to save us this week.' The show isn't the same without Jack though. There just not the same humour in it. I think Ben Browder does alright, but I was hooked on Claudia Black since the 'Let's make babies' line. The best I could do is this music video someone made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqn9KQvdNzg&search=claudia%20black (20 seconds in) Just think let's make babies. Hhahahahah

My wife is a huge fanatic and is seriously all about Jack and Sam getting together. She thinks it's going to happen here in upcoming season 10.

    DAMN IT!

Daniel Jackson is dying. Apparently he's the SG-1 version of Dr. Louis Slotin. :wtc:

It was a good show, but I really hate Farscape and them bringing in most of the farscape cast to replace people leaving sg-1 that really has made the show a lot worse. Oh well it's getting cancelled anyway. :hsd:

My roommate owns it all and while some episodes are okay he always finds the absolute worst ones and watches them 18 times while.

    That's lame.

To enjoy the show, you HAVE to watch it in order, from the beginning. Most of the first season isn't must-see, but the pilot is, and starting in season 2, you need to see everything IN ORDER.

If you do that, it's an amazing show. If not, you won't like it because it will make no sense. :hs:

SG-1 has kind of gone downhill. I enjoyed it more when the team would work together to fix something and the solutions were the result of using the tools given in the content of the show, instead of a "black box" solution like hooking up your laptop to a teleport device where we don't learn anything.

I enjoyed the series, and the 200th episode was very funny. I can't say something like "I wish they would have kept O'Neil"; you could tell after like season 6 or 7 that he just didn't care anymore. He was just "phoning it in."

It's definitely past time for the series to pack it up. I've been watching Stargate Atlantis lately and it's okay, but not a replacement for SG-1 in its prime.

I actually liked SG-1 better than Deepspace 9, Capt. Cisco was a terrible actor, And I couldnt stand that fake smile of his. A better actor could have done miracles for DS9, but at least Jadzia was fine....her replacement never really worked for me, but by that time the show was almost over anyway. SG1 does have Carter....if they could only find tighter fitting clothes for her....:p

I'm a die hard SG-1 fan, I've been watching since season 1 on HBO.

    Atlantis is mediocre at best.
