I just don't wanna keep dumping an arm and a leg for ammo for plinking. The p22, I hear good things. 22lr is cheap - and I can always get a 22 rifle down the road. It's small, light and could be easily concealed - however it is a 22.... and it just seems a little silly to count on a .22 for any sort of self defense.

Does anyone seriously consider it anything other than a toy?

It's fine if you have the hands of a 7 year old girl. But if you're a man, go for a Buckmark or a MKIII

  6. I'll 4th the Ruger MKII/MKIII idea.

I have a P22. It pretty much fucking rocks. Never had a problem with it.

It's the only .22 caliber item I own. So I dont really do anything with it except play with it and probably never care to have any other .22 pistol.

I need some new pictures of this thing.... it doesn't look the same, and it's about to go under the knife again I think.

are those burris red dots decent? they are significantly less than eotech or aimpoints, correct?

  11. I like the one I have, and yeah, they're less than aimpoint/eotech. I think they're about $200 now. They're surely nowhere near as rugged as a real combat optic, but for plinking or matches they'd be fine.

Ruger Mk II or Mk III, I have one and love it. Easy to operate, pretty much same grip angle and controls as a 1911 if you get the 22/45.

    You break one already Keesh?

Mine has actually been pretty spot on. Only thing I kinda want is a bigger dot.

  15. Keesh broke mine in a cruel fashion. Only through my impressive skill was it salvaged.

    I like my P22.
Only thing I don't like is the mag capacity/cost.

Almost all .22 pistols have a 10rd mag cap.

i like the p22, i like that it's small, i like that it's cheap, and I love the price of the ammo. BUT, it would be a toy. Ideally I want something I can easily conceal if I have to AND rely on it for SD. Which is why i'm leaning towards the kel tek 9mm. I would even trade my g17 for smaller glock or xd - something concealable and then I'd buy the p22.

The P22 was on my short list when I bought my Mosquito. In hindsight, I wish I would have purchased a MKII/III or a Buckmark. The Sig only "reliably" fires MiniMags. Needless to say, I'm looking to off the Mosquito.

What's the general consensus on MKII/III vs Buckmark? I've shot my father's MKII and it shoots extremely accurately, but it's a whore to re-assemble
