GUN So SA finally did it re: 4" compact

    no, what they did was put a service length grip from the 9/40 onto the 45.

    The original 45's grip is a bit longer to make room for a few more rounds, This version is now the same size as the other Services.

    If you want the 9mm version of this, just buy a 9mm service.

    Now if you want a chopped version, get a dremel and go to town. Here is my XD40 with the grip chopped down to true SC height.

    Comparing the pics of the 9mm service to the .45 compact, it sure looks shorter. Am I just crazy?

    The pic on the SA website is a standard XD45 on the left and the Service length XD45 on the right. it's the same as the 9mm/40 services. They've already gotten a few over on the XD boards to compare.

    This was a stopgap model while a true XD45 SC is being designed.

    Glock really needs to come out with a single stack Compact in .45ACP

    I haven't personally heard anything about the compact and larger...seems like the problems have been with the PM series.
