I've had to spend $1000 on unscheduled maintenance.

$350 on a dead ABS sensor
$200 on frame inspection (not ford's fault, but the dealer's)
$481 today on a new rear axle seal and diff service because the axle seal blew, new rear pads because the blown seal soaked them in oil, new brake fluid, turning rotors, etc. Just had a brake job done in Sept.

And I still need to spend $2-300 to get my air conditioner working.

And the car makes tons of squeaks and rattles.

I'm ready to ditch this fucking thing for a Honda.

What year ? Also... Hondas are built to last... Im not a big fan of them... You can always learn to do it yourself if your inclined... I do all the work on my car, i have one mechanic I take my car to, and he has put my aftermarket clutch in... thats about it.

I can do some of the stuff myself but generally don't have the time.

Not to mention nothing I hate more than if I screw up then I have to pay to fix it. Then it hurts 2x as bad. I like having someone to yell at if in installl goes bad.

Hondas are built to last, and my next car will not be a domestic.

hondas last forever..... so long as its not basteredized by some high school kid and driven like an Enzo, then they last 2 weeks.:o

also, with a car like that you have to be damn near ASE certified to fuck with just about anything on it, casue its all computers. i go as far as spark plugs on the new cars, thats about it..

my 2002 mustang gt (with most of the bolt ons) is solid as a rock and i beat the shit out of it daily. knock on wood i've had no problems with it at all. I always run mobil 1 every 1500-2000 miles. my rear has synthetic fluid in it when i put the 4:10's in it. my previous car was an 88 5.0 that i abused daily for 8 years and only put oil, tires, brakes and a fuel pump into it.

    that sucks, sorry to hear

i don't know if we got lucky or if you got unlucky, but the 2000 GT in the family just turned 100k, and has never ever given us any trouble, mechanical or otherrwise, solid as a rock, no squeaks, no rattles

didn't your car receive some frame damage?

i've got a 94 gt with 124k miles and doesnt make ONE squeek or rattle. some cars are lemons straight from the factory, while most others arent. this happens with "imports" and "domestics".

I should have corrected myself, with the proper maintenance your honda or toyota will last you a while, why because we use to have an 88 terel and an 89 corolla lasted us 270 and 250k miles before we trashed them :)

The inspection I paid for indicated no frame damage to the car, however it had been in an accident... the damage amount of that however was below the amount that the state of ca requires accident history disclosure at.

once ford pay their employees as well as those communist imports makers and provide them with a decent pension, the quality of their cars will supercede all of the imports.

When we last left my Mustang it seemed as if things were getting better.... that didn't last long.

Today the heater decided it wants to be posessed. Regardless of setting on the climate control, I get hot air. And if i try to turn the dial, it will turn itself towards the heat once I let go.

I can't win. Bye Bye Car.

actually its the exact opposite....ford pays their employees too much while the japs and koreans pay substantially less to their workers with no retirement whatsoever....makes competing with them next to impossible....:hsd:
