    what a horrible event.

A woman was shot and killed in Lehi during Sunday services at an LDS church. Police say the woman's husband opened fire on her in the parking lot, without even saying a word, leaving her dead and witnesses hysterical.

The couple were in the middle of a divorce, and the husband apparently waited for his wife to come to church Sunday. That's when he opened fire in the parking lot, while others watched in shock that something so violent could happen at a place of worship.
Two LDS wards were meeting in a chapel in Lehi when several shots were fired, and a 30-year-old mother was gunned down in the parking lot as people were still arriving to church. Sgt. Jeff Swenson, with the Lehi Police Department, said, "There was no confrontation, there was nothing said. He just opened fire on her, like I said, he fired multiple rounds and several hit her, and then he left the scene."

When will people start realizing that this kind of stuff can, and does, happen in places of worship too.
I don't go to church much anymore, but I went with my family on Christmas Eve, and of course I carried, and the whole night my mother was upset with me.

I just told her, "I love you, even if you're stupid about this subject. But I do it because I feel compelled to, just like you feel compelled to go to church."
And you know what mom, you deserve to be able to do that in peace. But someone needs to keep that peace when something horrific arises.

Sorry to hear about your wife though, that must have shaken her up a bit.
Maybe she sees now how important having firearms really can be in our lives.

Too bad for the lady that had no choice. Her husband deserves a slow and painful death.

Ya, shaken up to say the least.

She already knows the importance of self defense.....she carries a .380 automatic she can dot your eye with at 15M. Just glad the guy took off and wasnt threatening anyone else, by the time she realized what was going on, he already bailed.

Its true, Mormons are of the nicest people I have ever met and I have known a few. Different beliefs than me, but nice people.

sorry but that's the kind of thinking that gets you killed in the first place. It's no different than "when are people going to learn this kind of stuff can, and does, happen in places of worship ect."

The last person I'm going to trust is somebody who believes in magical rocks :mamoru:

Good thing that could never happen in Georgia. It's illegal to bring a gun to a church...

    ...for now.

all I meant was that of the many church shootings I have heard about, this is the first I've heard of being at a mormon church. thats all. I didn't mean to imply that a mormon church was any safer than any other place. just never heard of a mormon shooting.

"rare" was the wrong word to use and I take it back
